چکیده

Objective The aim of this study is to identify risk factors intra-cystic hemorrhage in microwave ablation mixed solid and cystic s, design a preoperative nomogram predict the value intraoperative bleeding with goal individualizing surgical approach toward different types thyroid nodules. Methods A total 241 patients cystic-solid nodules who underwent ultrasound-guided percutaneous were retrospectively divided into group non-bleeding compare diameter, proportion, fluid nature, color Doppler flow imaging, Contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) findings, operative methods. Based on univariate multivariate analysis, important nodular intracapsular procedure projected for predicting possibility Results Intra-cystic was developed 37 cases during incidence 15% (37/241). Significant differences found statistically between two groups diameter lesions, CEUS ratio, methods ( P = 0.000, 0.001, 0.024, 0.002). predicted by model based accuracy 81% prediction consistency index (C-index) 0.78. Conclusion new efficient identified nodules, which will aid development targeted planning thus reducing ablation.

Partially Cystic Thyroid Nodules: Ultrasound Findings of Malignancy

OBJECTIVE To seek for the ultrasound (US) findings of partially cystic thyroid nodules that are associated with malignancy. MATERIALS AND METHODS We reviewed the US characteristics of 22 surgically confirmed partially cystic papillary carcinomas, and compared them with those of 80 benign partially cystic nodules. The review cases were selected in a random order from a total of 1029 partially ...

Sonographic differentiation of partially cystic thyroid nodules: a prospective study.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE There is no prospective study related to the sonographic differentiation of malignant PCTN from benign PCTN. This prospective study was designed to evaluate differentiation of benign from malignant PCTNs with thyroid sonography. MATERIALS AND METHODS Two hundred thirteen PCTNs in 196 patients who had consecutively undergone prospective sonographic diagnosis and US-FNAB ...

Partially cystic thyroid nodules in ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration

Partially cystic thyroid nodules (PCTNs) are common on ultrasound (US). However, there are insufficient data on the prevalence of thyroid carcinoma among such nodules. The purpose of this study was thus to evaluate the prevalence and differentiation of partially cystic thyroid cancers in US-guided fine needle aspiration (FNA).A total of 1342 consecutive patients with 1360 thyroid nodules underw...

Combination therapy consisting of ethanol and radiofrequency ablation for predominantly cystic thyroid nodules.

SUMMARY Predominantly cystic thyroid nodules are often aspirated before radiofrequency ablation to enhance its efficacy; however internal bleeding during the aspiration is a problem. We evaluated the feasibility and safety of ethanol ablation to control internal bleeding that occurred during preparatory aspiration. Between September 2010 and August 2011, 11 of 40 predominantly cystic nodules bl...

Ultrasound-based diagnostic classification for solid and partially cystic thyroid nodules.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE The ability of US to differentiate benign thyroid nodules from malignant ones is still a matter of debate. The aim of this study was to assess the diagnostic efficacy of a US-based classification system for solid and PCTNs through a prospectively designed study. MATERIALS AND METHODS We studied 1289 thyroid nodules in 1036 patients who underwent thyroid US, US-FNA, and ...
